Hello… we are Rusty Shears, Russell Hirst from Kent & Kirstie Shears from Whitby, north Yorkshire. We have lived here in the Lot since June 2020 with our Beardie Peggy and menagerie of animals.

After swapping our careers in fashion at M&S head office & 3rd generation family Baker, to opening ‘a very unusual tea room and gin house’, Rusty Shears, in Whitby North Yorkshire England in 2014.

We decided to move the adventure to France in 2020 and follow a dream. It has taken 3 years of love, sweat and tears to renovate our barn to create a high end, somewhat quirky Gite incorporating modern luxury with tradition.

Thank-you to all the lovely guests, human and animal that have stayed with us in our first season and have enjoyed the comforts of Rusty Shears and the beautiful Lot.
